Course Description
"This advanced, highly rigorous, elective course is for motivated students who are prepared for a challenging English language arts curriculum. This course, when followed by IB English HL II, leads to the IB English test. Students are required to read at least six major works of literature by different authors. Course work will focus on narrative techniques and literary elements. Writing assignments will include literary comparisons and analyses of works studied. One world literature paper between 1250 and 1500 words will be assessed by the IBO. Additionally, this course includes a variety of oral activities and a major formal oral assessment. Successful completion of Honors English 9 and 10 is strongly recommended."
